Some parents, especially those who experienced difficulties or challenges with with a subject may find it helpful to rent DVD's from a library or other such resource. It is also helpful for the parents to face their issues, instead of telling their children they were no good at a subject.
Additionally, core curriculum subjects are best learned when they are presented in a manner that involves the learner's interests. For example, if a child is interested in horses, present math questions that pertain to horses, write about horses, and learn about science related to horses.
